Instead go for a diet that is high in carbohydrates and protein. The benefits of protein is the fact that it will repair your body after intense weight lifting and the carbohydrates will give you the much needed energy you need to workout. Some great foods to eat are- Chicken, Red meat, Cheese, Nuts, Rice, Oats, and Fruit and vegetables

Just create yourself a diet full of those foods and eat 3-4 meals a day and you are onto a great start to building muscle.
I also recommend drinking 8-9 glasses of water a day and 2-3 protein shakes a day. You can buy the protein shakes from gyms, health food shops and online.
